Three of the most popular books from the "Everybody" section of our library (based on data from Sept.2015 - Sept.2016) have become our candidates for a K-8 "Election Day"! Each student will have an opportunity to cast his or her vote in the library for the "best" book on November 8th. Throughout the month of October, I'll be using the book Vote! by Eileen Christelow in Library Specials lessons to reinforce students' understanding about this important process in our country. BONUS: Mrs. Christelow is coming to OLS for a special Author Day in March 2017! Depending on the grade level, we will also discuss how media affects the way voters gather information about candidates. To that end, here is some information about our book candidates for Library Election Day 2016!
