Lessons this month have centered mostly around learning to navigate the shelves and match books to needs, interests, and levels. Circulation has been busier than ever and that is a GREAT thing. Also GREAT are our parent volunteers who get books back on the shelves so students can find them... again and again! So thankful for them.
Speaking of thankful, today I tried something new with Jr. High and it seemed to be a success! 7th & 8th graders "speed dated" books and made "Book Dance Cards" listing their favorites. Now they have a list of books they might like to checkout given their limited time visiting our library. It was so gratifying to see them discover the amazing variety we have for them and see some excitement for books from these Jr. High students! |
